While reading Gloria and Buckle this week you will understand that animals work with humans to help keep us safe. Sometimes keep us safe also means to help those who have disabilities. For years dogs have those who are physically handicapped, blind, or are in need of emotional support. Horses too have been used to keep people safe, but they are also used just like guide dogs!

Many people forget about the reason why we get together to stuff our faces full of turkey and share our day with close family and friends. Here is a webquest full of activities to check out!
Previously, we studied the frog life cycle and now we are going to experience and study the fish life cycle. Our Classroom Experiences for the Week
Watch this video to take a virtual field trip to a Wampanoag Village. I hope you remember to take notes or sketch pictures so you can include them in your picture storyboard. Read or listen (at the very bottom of the page you can listen to the story, look for the button in the right corner) to a letter from a little girl who lived in the village. This story gives you a chance to really visualize what it is like to live in 1621. Now you are ready to complete your story board of a day in the life of a Wampanoag child. Be sure to create your story with lots of details you learned from the activities above.
We are writing folktales this week BUT we are going to change things up by giving alternative endings or events. Watch these videos below of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Beanstalk. You will brainstorm, pre-write, and revise your alternative story this week. You may give the story a new title and new events, but the characters need to stay the same. |
